Volunteers' Week 2018 - Tamara's Story

Tamara has been volunteering with the DRC for over 18 months. Here She discusses how she came to be involved with the Disability Resource Centre.

“I was looking to gain experience as a receptionist and came across the Disability Resource Centre through searching online. I sent my CV into the DRC and was called for an interview and then I was given the role. I volunteer on reception and my role includes meeting and greeting clients and visitors, helping with queries, and using a switchboard to liaise with staff among other things.

The main thing I like about volunteering at the DRC is that the role is very varied, you meet a lot of different people but also get to make good friends and great contacts.”
